Measuring hidden potential

Buckleys manufacture a range of subsea corrosion monitoring equipment specifically designed to determine the corrosion status of underwater structures such as piers, jetties, pipelines and ships’ hulls. The BathyCorrometer® is a diver-held unit which will measure the corrosion potential at specific contact points. Although the readings are visible to the diver, our Surface Display Unit can display readings onboard a ship or diving platform. For Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), the UCP1A contact probe or UCP1B proximity probe can be easily installed to carry out unmanned corrosion surveys. Simple surveys of marine structures can also be carried out by the use of a Marine Survey Kit.

BathyCorrometer® Pro

Since the1970s, the BathyCorrometer® has been the leading instrument for subsea corrosion monitoring surveys ― and with good reason.
Renowned for its rugged, dependable construction; the BathyCorrometer® has built a reputation for reliability and its ability to handle harsh environments whilst taking accurate measurements.
The latest version of the industry-standard BathyCorrometer® brings a host of improvements designed to make it simpler than ever to carry out subsea cathodic protection surveys and enhance the BathyCorrometer’s reliability even further.

What’s in the kit?

  • Buckleys BathyCorrometer® Pro’
  • Flexible lanyard with carabiner connection
  • Buckleys CalChecker Pro’
  • 6 x hardened stainless steel probe tips with a spanner
  • Battery charger
  • Silicone grease
  • Zinc test block
  •  3 x K-series reference cells
  •  Instant seawater (salt) solution
  •  All contained in a fitted carrying case with an instruction manual

BathyCorrometer® CalChecker Pro

The CalChecker Pro’ has been developed to provide BathyCorrometer® users a quick and convenient method of verifying the accuracy of their measurements.
This compact, hand-held unit connects to the BathyCorrometer® Pro’ via the socket at the base of its handle and gives a stabilised voltage which the BathyCorrometer® Pro’ displays. Provided this voltage is within a predetermined range, the electronics are in good working order and do not require recalibration before use.
The CalChecker Pro’ is fully backward-compatible and can be used with older BathyCorrometer® models.

Marine Survey Kit

The Marine Survey kit has been designed to include all items required to easily carry out corrosion surveys of marine structures.

The half-cell is weighted to help maintain its position. The half-cell is connected to the cable spool by a 75m cable. Two leads connect the spool and the structure to the multimeter. In use, the multimeter is connected to the structure and the cable spool. The half-cell is then lowered into the sea to the desired position. The multimeter displays the corrosion voltage.

What’s in the kit?

  • Weighted silver/silver chloride half cell
  • 75m cable on reel (other lengths available on request)
  • Multimeter
  • Leads for connecting with reel and multimeter

Surface Display Pro

The Surface Display Pro’ connects to the BathyCorrometer® Pro’ via an umbilical cable and remotely displays readings to top-side users.

Each Surface Display Pro’ is ‘paired’ to a specific BathyCorrometer® to ensure the readings obtained are as accurate as possible.
Umbillical cables are made to user-specified lengths and can be purchased separately.

What’s in the kit?

  • Surface Display Pro’ unit
  • Mains power supply lead
  • Calibration leads
  • Comprehensive instruction manual

NOTE: A 2-core umbilical cable is also required, lengths to suit customer requirements

Upgrade to Pro

The BathyCorrometer® Pro’ Upgrade Kit converts the Mk5 BathyCorrometer’s internals to the same specification as the latest BathyCorrometer® Pro’.
This compact, hand-held unit connects to the BathyCorrometer® Pro’ via the socket at the base of its handle and gives a stabilised voltage which the BathyCorrometer® Pro’ displays.
